Senior Nurse - Band 6
Band 6 role, up to £36,000
Monday to Friday, 40 hr week
Our client provides primary care and mental healthcare services in secure settings across the UK, and they are looking for an experienced Senior Nurse RGN or RMN (Band 6) for a prison in Rugby to provide clinical leadership to maintain and exceed high quality nursing practice, support clinical audit and quality initiatives, and mentor more junior staff members. Stable adult and older adult prison population.
Primary care services offered are similar to a GP Practice or walk-in centre: Health promotion, smoking cessation, immunisations, sexual health, chronic disease management, acute illness, COPD and can include emergency care or preparing someone for hospital admittance. Mental health services and inpatients.
Responsibilities of the Senior Nurse RGN / RMN include:
The Senior Nurse RGN / RMN will provide day to day mentorship across the healthcare team, and act as a resource for colleagues. Lead screening and needs assessment for patients; run nurse led clinics and the provision of nurse triage in Healthcare areas relevant to the needs of patients, appropriately delegating and supervising other nursing staff.
Full-time permanent role, Monday to Friday 40 hr week.
Senior Nurse RGN/RMN essentials
• RGN or RMN qualified with valid pin
• At least 2 years current experience in acute medical/A+E/GP Practice or psychiatric hospital settings ideally, other backgrounds considered if relevant.
• At least 1 year’s experience at Band 6, or strong upper Band 5 with demonstrable supervisory/mentoring experience)
